Shanghai Administration for Industry and Commerce and Shanghai Quality Supervision and Testing Center for Agro-chemicals jointly launched an inspection on pesticide products in mid-March, 2013.
The inspection is to supervise the pesticide quality on the market and ensure smooth agricultural production.
The inspection team randomly selected 40 batches of samples of insecticides,
fungicides and herbicides, and tested the samples on appearance, contents of active ingredients, pH value and other major parameters. Consequently, Shanghai Administration for Industry and Commerce would release the testing results, based on which penalties will be given to those failed products.
Carried out at the spring season, it is hoped that the inspection will regulate the market of agricultural inputs, and guarantee quality products for farmers' use.
